![]() ![]() I can’t think of too many gingerbread sodas. And there’s already a lot of other berry sodas out there. Partially because Merry Mash-Up, while still unique, was a berry soda. The last few years, for the holidays, we’ve been getting Merry Mash-Up and while that soda was good, I have to say, I am greatly preferring Gingerbread Snap’d. I want to put on a warm robe, sit in front of a fire in a big, comfy chair, and just slowly sip on this as the evening comes to a close. If it weren’t for the caffeine, I’d say this would be a great dessert soda. Which, I know sounds weird, but I’m personally enjoying the hell out of right now. This feels like drinking a gingerbread cookie. While this is gingerbread, so all the extra associated flavors with that are here, like the other spices, and even what tastes like a hint of the royal icing. ![]() Ginger Ale is pretty much just straight ginger. I can definitely taste things like cinnamon and cloves in the mix as well. It definitely goes more towards the Gingerbread than the Ginger Ale direction. So, it will be interesting to see if this soda is really to my tastes or not. I love ginger, but ginger ale isn’t my thing. However, I’ve never been a fan of ginger ale. Now, I will say, gingerbread is quite possibly my favorite type of cookie. As for the soda’s aroma, it smells almost exactly like those soft, iced, gingerbread man cookies that you can get in the box. The clear bottle lets us know that it’s going to be a slightly cloudy white in color, much like White Out. But this all really doesn’t have much to do with the flavor of a soda, so, soap box away. And, personally, while I’m not normally a huge Holidays person, I don’t know, this year, I’m kinda ready for it to be here. Also, often, those same people who are all, “No Christmas until December!” are also the ones going, “Woo! I am seeing Halloween stuff in July!” (and yes, seriously, I started seeing Halloween stuff at the same time as Back to School). I know Canadian Thanksgiving is already over with) These days… just let people enjoy stuff. ![]() And that’s coming from someone who, for the longest time, was very staunchly, “No Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving!” (US Thanksgiving, that is. Now, for starters, some might say, “Holiday stuff in November!? Ugh! Wait your turn!” Look, first off, I’m actually getting kinda tired of the rhetoric. Now that it’s cold, I figured I’d give you all a review. ![]() I picked some up when I was up at my Kroger yesterday. Anyway, whatever delay there was is now over and this soda was officially released on Monday. I remember anticipating it last year around this time, but it never showed up. Now, this flavor has been in the works for a while. And now, with the Holiday Season almost upon us, they have released Gingerbread Snap’d. We had our yearly Voo-Dew (which turned out to be Strawberry Starburst in flavor, so I feel I was pretty damn close with strawberry cotton candy), Thrashed Apple (which I’ve picked up another 12-pack of because I really like it), and slightly further back was their Flamin’ Hot (which I almost hate to admit how much I liked). PepsiCo and Mountain Dew have really been coming at it with the new flavors lately. Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another Dew Review. ![]()
